Auction

I have started to participate in auctions. My first two were on outbid with the amazing SamplerVillage group. The first one went really well and the second one was ok. Not sure what happened.

Bakers market

Fun with Marshmallows

Happy Monday to you all!

I have been putting off trying this, and I found out why. :)

This weekend I attempted to pipe marshmallows. Let me just tell you - it did NOT go well. I was a sticky marshmallow MESS! So messy, I was unable to get any pictures. (I was home alone. )

I went back to the articles and books and one recommended using sugar as a mold. Pour the sugar in a pan and draw a shape with your finger to pipe into.

I think I will stick with my molds for now.

Well, I realize I haven't been very good about my blog. :) I am not good about keeping up with it and sometimes my posts are less then stellar. :)

There are SO many blogs out there and so many things they talk about. It's just amazing.

I am going to try and talk about my products in between other things. Hopefully that will help keep things going. LOL

Since it is almost Valentines day, I am going to start off with my gift box I created just for Valentines day.

(I do no know why I can not get that picture to load the right way. I have tried on 3 different sites.)

I did research on the Internet to come up with some very romantic flavors. I also waned to offer something a little different and interesting, rather then the same old boring chocolates.Which, may in fact bite me in the butt.

I am including a traditional brownie truffle. I didn't want to totally ignore the chocolate factor.

I had alot of fun putting together flavors. Matching up the herbs and fruits to compliment each other in flavors and supposed meanings. :) Naming was harder. I don't feel like that is my strong suit. So, the candy names maybe alittle CORNY!

My newest obsession

I have recently rediscovered popcorn. Not the microwave popcorn from the store. The smell alone from that makes me nausea. Air popped popcorn. I started with a popper from goodwill. I literally blew that one up using it too much. I was in the middle of making super hero popcorn

I have made all kinds of flavored popcorn. It's so much fun!


I use my handmade flavored marshmallows for a gluten free take on the marshmallow treats ;)

I can use kool aid or jello for candied popcorn. So many choices !!!

Dessert table treats continued

As some of you know, my helper is 4. He loves Halloween and Spookly the Square pumpkin.

When I asked him what he wanted to make for the dessert table his response was Spookly's of course. (He knows the book by heart.) So, away we went planning how to make Spookly the Square Pumpkin treats.

We decided to use rice krispie treats for the bodies.

Then we cut them into something that resembled squares and dipped them in orange chocolate.

Please note the chocolate does not look that orange as we ran low on colorant. :)

 

 

We did not do eyes and arms. I got lazy. :)

 

 

 

We used the sprinkles instead. :)

 

Then green icing to make nice little stems, :)

 

 

 

Not perfect Spookly's but the short one was happy with them and all the kids at the party loved them!

Whoopie Pies

One of desserts I made for my dessert table was whoopie pies with chocolate marshmallow filling. IT being Halloween, we had to have pumpkin cakes.

Then of course, these are too boring and uninteresting. We had to decorate.

Thank you pinterest for the ideas! :) Love that site!!!

They turned out pretty good.

The kids at the party LOVED them!

Halloween Party

I am going to be doing doing a dessert table at a Halloween party and I am very excited about it.

I am excited to use some of my halloween molds!

 

I have a cake pan I am using for whoopie pies, but I want to try and incorporate some of these fun molds! Especially the eyes and teeth!

Thoughts??

I am planning on marshmallow cereal bars, popcorn ball, cake pops, caramel apples, and chocolate bark. Maybe I just make chocolate shapes instead of bark???
