Live and Learn

I was taught a very valuable lesson today. I did not do enough research before entering my shipping costs. I got an order to Australia and my shipping costs were $20. short. :(

Be sure to research your shipping costs! It's VERY VERY costly to ship overseas!

Head smack!

I made some yummy caramels for an Art opening. I did a drink theme. I made martini, Mocha, Tea, Red Wine, and brandy. I tasted them all and I was happy with how they came out.

I forgot to take photos so I can list them in my shop!

I CANT BELIEVE IT!

Sun and fun

The weather in deary Seattle has finely turned decent. I have been trying really hard to focus in promoting the business.

I did send in some yummy dessert topping and peanut/sunflower butters for a celebrity gifting. It was actually a relative of a celebrity, but still. :) I am also needing to start preparing for an art opening. I am doing drink themed caramels. I think it's going to be fun!

Later gaters. :)

Flavored Waters

I love all the flavor extracts and oils for cooking. The cost can add up! While cleaning, I found an herb book with a bunch of how tos.
I am currently making my own flavored water to use in my caramels and perhaps marshmallows.

All you have to do is cram a bunch of herbs or rose/flower petals in the jar, add water and sit in the sun until you feel its ready. I let mine sit a few days, as we don't get too hot here. You can also boil the water with the flavors for about an hour. I like the slow method. I feel the flavor is better. :)

Enjoy!

marketing

Since business has been alittle slow, I have been focusing on marketing. I have been facebooking, tweeting and pinning to boost my name. It has helped get my name and product out there but it hasn't done much for sales yet. It's still early.I also plan on blogging more.

On another note I added new products to my shops this week. I know have 2 online shops. my Craft Cafe shop has launched!

So, I have added caramel sauce, marshmallow sauce (which is the fam fav) and "Sticky Balls" which are cakeballs made with caramel.

I am also working on putting together some party favor packages to list. My son made these cupcake toppers. :)

I have a ton of molds to allow for variety. So, I am pretty excited for this. Hopefully it will sell.

Alright, well I am planning on blogging more so I will type soon!
